I DID IT! Last PL 2013 Post

Image
Whew. I did it. I can check one of my 2014 goals off the list. I finished my 2013 Project Life album. Like always, I started out strong. Then towards the end I lost momentum. I just wanted to be done. Maybe I'll go back and add more to the pages, change them up a bit. But for now it's finished. And I'm happy. week of November 10-16- I'm sure you noticed my lovely eye picture- sorry about that. But this week was more about pictures, and less about journaling. I used cards from WRMK for this page. The "notes" journaling paper at the top is from the $1 bins at Target- what a find! week of November 17- 23 - More eye pictures...sorry (or am I?!). This week we celebrated Thanksgiving with Brandon's family since we were going to be in Hawaii the next week. Like usual, I forgot to take pictures at Thanksgiving. One day I'll take a pictures...one day. How cute are those little turkey and fox stickers?! Thank you Michaels $1 sticker books :) w...

Project Life Catch Up!

Image
Who's life hasn't been crazy lately? Ever since the start of school, I feel like my life has been on fast forward. They joys of working for a university! I thought my extra long holiday weekend last weekend would allow for a lot of catch up time..I was wrong. Don't get me wrong, it was great spending time with family and friends but I was ready to go to town on my Project Life book. But I also needed a little R&R. Let's just get to it shall we? Enjoy! week of May 26th - This week consisted of a ton of friend time! The PL cards are from the Jade Core Kit- except for the tree stump. That one is from the 5th and Frolic Core Kit. The awesome light bulb is a post-it from the Target $1 bins.  week of June 2nd - Sometimes I look at my pictures and think 'man, my life is so exciting' and sometimes I look back and think 'wow. I need some pizzazz...' I'd say this was a week needing pizzazz. weekend of June 7&8 - Now my weekend, there...

My Creativity Has Returned!

Image
Note to self- whenever I want to accomplish something, post about it on my blog. I have finally accomplished some scrapbooking AND some wedding planning. Look at me go! It just took a little bit of guilt from posting about it...and TA-DA! So where to begin? I've accomplished so much. Ok, well really not a lot...but compared to the last 2 months it's A LOT. Let's start with some scrapbooking shall we? But not right away. First we need to admire my lovely salsa I canned this weekend. Yes. I also canned salsa this week. No big deal. I received an e-mail from my dad asking if I was coming home. It was followed by CANNING IS FUN! I NEED YOUR HELP. He must have been desperate. And I knew I would get to keep some for myself so I figured why not? So let's take a minute to admire all of those tomatoes I juiced, the peppers, jalapenos and onions I cut (and shed tears for), and the minutes I spent over the warm stove stirring this deliciousness. Best part- it's all home ...

PL- Last of April and Beginning of May!

Image
Time for another confession. I've had these pages done since the beginning of May, but I've been holding them hostage. I didn't want to overwhelm everyone with all of my posts! I needed to spread it out, make you wait. And I had no idea if I was going to continue on this whole I'm actually getting these done on time path. Would you be surprised if I told you that path was short lived? I have not worked on any of the pages after these. My shoe box of pictures and trinkets is filling up fast...so I better get working! week of  April 21 - if you remember in my last PL post I made a page for West Virginia. Well that trip was a week long but hit at an award time. My trip to Nashville is actually later in the week. I was struggling on what to do with it so I decided to just do a page for each trip. This page isn't too exciting... weekend of April 27th - I had a lot that happened the week of the 21st so I made a page just for the weekend! The stickers! Oh, th...

My Trip Book- My 2 Weeks of Adventures (pt 2)

Image
Time for Part Deux of my crazy traveling trip! I had full intentions of getting a lot of my scrapbooking completed this week but my actual life had other plans. Around 8:00 last night I decided to crack down and knock my Tennessee trip on its tooshie. I was really feeling it at first. I finished the first page...I was no longer in the mood to scrapbook. Grrrr. I just hate when that happens. You're all pumped and feel like you're going to accomplish A TON. So you drag out all of your scrapbook stuff. You work on your first page and that feeling you once had of motivation has suddenly left. AND it took you longer to drag out all of your supplies than it did to make that first page. And that's what happened. But I wasn't going to let that stop me! Here are the pages that I powered through last night and can check off my to-do list. BOOYAH! The guitar and "Nashville" came from a map I got on my trip. I was super pleased with how that turned out....

My Trip Book- My 2 Weeks of Adventures (pt 1)

Image
It seems like not too long ago I thought it was a genius idea to do 2 trips to 2 different states in less then 2 weeks time. I was crazy for thinking that. And here's the thing, neither for them were a "vacation" but more work related. But how can one pass up on opportunities to travel.... for free. Not me. Hence the 2 trips, 2 states, 2 weeks. First up - West Virginia . I had never been to W.V. before! And my kinfolk are from there. (I felt it was necessary to use kinfolk.) Anyway, I was on this trip with the university's speech team for their national competition. The days are really, really long. And we didn't have much free time. So all I had to document were the pictures I took of the team and my brochure and ballot from the tournament.  Don't you just love that map?! Thank you Pinterest for that find. The paper in the bottom right corner is part of the MME Lost and Found Pt 2 collection. The camera was a card find at Michael's in th...

Project Life Core Kit- Help, I'm Addicted.

Image
First step is admitting you have a problem. At least I can admit that. When I started this whole journey, I wasn't very well equipped. (Well that sounds dirty..whoops. We all know where my mind is!) As I've said before, I hardly did any scrapbooking in college and relied on my mom's supplies. (I originally had 'goodies' there and when I reread it I thought to myself ew. That doesn't sound too good there.. yes my mind went there, again.) So when I decided to start my PL book I was starting pretty much from scratch. A friend had told me all about Becky Higgins and the Project Life brand and I was immediately intrigued. I would spend time online looking at the products and other bloggers use of the Core Kits . I was liking what I was seeing. But I wasn't a huge fan of the price. I just wasn't too sure if I could fully commit to $30 for scrapbook cards. Especially because a lot of other brands were catching on the the crazy: - mambi Pocket Pages : These...

PL- the month of March

Image
I have a confession. I may or may not have had some of these pages done before doing previous months. Yes, it's true. I had finished these next few pages before I had finished the pages from my last post. But I wanted to start with the events that were current and I had the strongest memories of! Enough of my confession. Now, I bring to you my workings from the rest of March. Whoooot. Side note, some of my weeks got a little wonky because I had some pretty important events happen that I didn't want to limit on my documenting.(you'll soon see what I mean) week of March 17th- WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN? I always get one photo that loads in the direction I don't want it to! But you still get the idea here. This week we celebrated the President's  Inauguration. I was very active on a committee so I decided to commemorate the week! You can't tell in the picture, but I used a beautiful avocado washi tape (my newest obsession)! It's made by We R Memory Make...

PL- look at me go!

Image
Yes, I really did find $2! Best day ever. The weather here in Indiana has been getting warmer, but a little too humid for me! I don't "glow" or "glisten" very well in this humid weather. And my hair doesn't look so hott either. So to save myself from looking like one hott mess out in public, why not look that way in the comfort of my own home? I figured it's the perfect time to play catch-up on my Project Life! Yay! I was SUPER far behind. Like embarrassingly far behind. How far behind? Well...let me show you.  Hmm...does that say January 27? Why yes, yes it does. JANUARY . Yep. I was that far behind. But the good news is I'm getting caught up! A few tricks about this layout- the paint chip, invitation, and confetti. I just love how paint chips can give that nice variety of color and they're easy to write on! The confetti took a while to grow on me. (in fact it's still growing...) But it's cute and festive and fits nicely wit...

My Trip Book- Even More Catching Up!

Image
Here's the problem I always seem to have: I go on a trip, take a ton of pictures, return home and develop my hundreds of pictures, tell myself I will scrapbook them later...then never get to them. Until recently this has been my anthem. Prime example- my trip to the city of hustle and bustle, NYC. I went on this trip in 2009 with a group from college. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't do much scrapbooking in college. In fact, I don't think I did any...so I have some catching up to do. This project has been looming over me ever since I've decided to really get back in to scrapbooking. While I'm scrapbooking my most recent adventures (probably because I have the strongest memories of those) , I look at that pile from NYC and tell myself, "you can get to that one later." So finally "later" came and it was time to tackle the project that's been sitting there staring at me. I've decided to post some of the pages I've completed. As ...
