My Trip to Ireland- Day 7
I’m gonna make this post quick. Today was our last full day in
Belfast (tomorrow we are heading to Dublin). We decided not to have much
planned for the day. I thnk this is where it’s important to add in we
started with a rainy day.
We started our morning eating breakfast. Breakfast consisted of soda
bread, potato bread, bacon, egg, sausage and baked beans. Yep. That’s a
traditional breakfast here! We then head to St. George’s market for one
last look and come up short. We venture over to city center to walk
around and then head to the BBC building. This was our surprise from
Hailey. We got to sit it on the taping of a small show. It was pretty
interesting. After the show, we decide it’s time to head back for lunch
(and yes it’s still raining). Hailey decided she wanted Chinese but mom
and I wanted fish and chips. So we drop Hailey off and head the The Bot
for fish and chips. Now first I must say that the name The Bot reminds
me of The Dot and therefore Degrassi. Second I must add that The Bot has
a 5 pound special where you get fish and chips and a pint. So you can
imagine that’s what I ordered and got a Guinness to drink. Now here is
the best part about The Bot: go up to the bar and ask if you can buy a
glass and they’ll give you a pint glass of your choice. Pretty awesome
huh?
After lunch, Hailey and I walk to her dorm to pick up some things she wants us to take back to the states. And we make a stop buy Tesco so I can buy some biscuits to take to the states. After trudging to Hailey's place, we head back to the flat…in the rain. By this time, I am drenched and so are my boots and socks. We get back to the flat to change and then we head to the city center for one last look around the town. Hailey and I decide to stop in as many liquor stores as we can and make a pit stop at the “casino”. We walk around and I was able to snap a few more pics and see a few more sights I hadn’t seen yet. I decided to wear my nerdy pedometer for this little trip to see how much Hailey and I had walked just around the city center after we changed….4.9 miles. I had no idea!
Once we arrive at the flat, Hailey makes homemade potato soup for dinner. Now I am in the process of packing and resting up for a busy day tomorrow!
